Isabella is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Jones Lab. She is interested in the heterogeneity of the HIV reservoir within and between individuals. Prior to joining the Jones Lab, Isabella completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge under Prof. Ravi Gupta studying SARS-CoV-2 variants and vaccines. She completed her master’s degree at Africa Health Research Institute in Durban, South Africa mentored by Dr. Alex Sigal and at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, mentored by Prof. Alex Shalek, where she was investigating the cellular reservoir in ART suppressed individuals. Isabella holds a B.Sc from the University of Cape Town in genetics and psychology and an Honours Degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in genetics.
